Scope Festival 2017

All of the horses and ponies jumped superbly at Scope Festival.

ATIYA did particularly well with WESTWINDS EGO taking 2ND PLACE in the UNDER 16S CHAMPIONSHIP – with Atiya being one of – if not the – youngest in the class at just 12 years of age.

She also WON the Mandy Hall 148 1M15 CHAMPIONSHIP with RANCHWOOD LATTE. (See full report on next post).

India also made good progress with her younger horses with the very green Florida VDL improving all week and finishing with a very good round in the 7 Year Old 1m35 Grand Prix. 8yo 148 pony Keelnacally Quilletto Roebuck also jumped well qualifying for her Foxhunter Final.

National Championships 2017

BSNC at Stoneleigh 2017

Atiya was the star of the show at the British Showjumping National Championships this year. At just 12 years old, it was her first time competing at Stoneleigh, however she was unfazed and jumped some superb rounds.

Atiya achieved 3rd place in the Under 14 National Championship and 4th place in the Under 16s National Championship both aboard Westwinds Ego. This was a fantastic outcome for a relatively new partnership around some challenging courses.

Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on her side in the Pony Newcomers Masters picking up an unlucky 4fts on course with Ranchwood Latte, however India and the 8yo Keelnacally Quilletto Robuck did secure a clear round to pick up a minor placing.

India also picked up 6th place in the Senior 1m30 competition with 6yo Billy Colman. This combination went on to come 10th in the National 6 Year Old Championship along with just having an unlucky pole in the Senior Newcomers Masters.

“My horse Chippi received 5* care from the day she arrived at Wodehouse Stud. Chippi was there initially for India to compete on my behalf, which she did very successfully, & then, when I decided to sell her, she was professionally advertised on their website and social media; clients were welcome to see her at anytime. As a result of this, Chippi was sold and is now competing up to 1m40 level with her new rider which is lovely for me to see. Wodehouse Stud offers fantastic facilities and I would thoroughly recommend the use of their services for any horse at any level whether it be for training, schooling or competing.” – Leanne Holmes

Pyecombe Young Horse Show

Pyecombe Young Horse Show

All horses jumped very well for our first time visiting Pyecombe at the Brendon Stud.

Billy Colman (6 years) was on terrific form jumping double clear in the 1m30 on the first day. He then went on to jump triple clear in the Big Star 6 Year Old class to come =1st and pick up his Nationals qualification. This qualified him for the Pyecombe 6 Year Old Grand Prix where he jumped another super double clear to take 2nd in a competitive class.

Atiya & Archie VI also had a good show having a win in the 1m10 class and just 4fts in the 1m20 on the final day with Archie returning to competition after his holiday.

Florida VDL (7 years) jumped double clear Foxhunter (1m20) and stepped up to jumping the 1m30s gaining valuable experience. Billy Comme Ca jumped well in the 1m20s and 1m30s with numerous double clears and also picked up a 4th place.

Keysoe CSI**/YH*

We had a good show at Keysoe International. Both Westwinds Ego and Atiya and Florida VDL and India jumped very well throughout the show. 7yo Florida VDL was contending his first International show and with little experience jumped round the Small Tour Grand Prix with just a fence down on route.

The star of the show once again, however, was the ever consistent Billy Colman who is jointly owned by Wodehouse Stud and William Funnel of the Billy Stud. Colman jumped clear everyday in the CSIYH* 6 Year Old classes and ended the show with a super double clear in the Grand Prix to take home 4th place.
